Car Key Programming
A car key is two things at once: a cut blade or emergency blade, and an electronic device the vehicle has to recognise. Programming is the part that makes the car accept the key — without it, a perfectly cut key will open the door but never start the engine.

Keys bought online
If you have already bought a key online, we can often program it — but the part must be the correct type and frequency for your vehicle, and some aftermarket keys will not accept programming at all. Send us a photo of the key and your registration before you buy where possible.
Security waiting periods
Some manufacturers build a security delay into key programming. That is a designed-in protection, not a fault, and we will factor it into the time we quote for the job.
After programming
We test the new key with you: lock, unlock, boot release where fitted, start, and the original keys where they still exist, so you leave knowing everything works.

Do you program car keys?

Can you program a key I bought myself?
Often, provided it is the correct part for your vehicle and it is programmable. Send us the registration and a photo of the key first.
Will my old keys still work afterwards?
On most vehicles yes. On some systems all keys must be re-learned together, and where a key has been lost you may want it erased on purpose.
